Approached by Imperative 21, a narrative change organization focusing on a more just and equitable global economic model, we were tasked to create an event as part of Unfinished Live: An Immersive annual event exploring the collision of technology, art, Ideas, and Impact in NYC.

The brief:
To imagine which narratives might make business practices and technologies more accountable to fuel long term wellbeing, especially in creating a healthier planet, a more inclusive economy, and a more participatory democracy.

The process:
To do this, we brought together leaders in business, technology and narrative strategy and cast them as part of a top secret temporary mission within The Department of Future Systems. Their brief: to explore the redesign of a new global cooperating system. We invited them into an immersive gallery in Chelsea NYC.
Here we designed a Department of Future Systems (DFS) logo, an interactive soundscape, a scripted central narrator VoiceOver and created an interactive floor map that required participants to move across the space according to the colour they were matched with, deliberately requiring them to negotiate the space and each other. At the closing of the event, we surprised attendees with a live stream to high school students in Denver, who posed hard hitting questions to these leaders.

The outcome:
36 leaders in Business, Technology and Narrative Change attended a 2 hour guided interactive workshop asking for feedback on how to run an effective narrative campaign that influences business leaders to do better. A synthesis document consolidating their on-the-day feedback
