The Armory: The Library of Empty Books
Armory was a community library, a public space for communal storytelling in the form of recordings and writings, an art-making space, and a meeting space. We are proud that New York City & New York State have defended its Sanctuary City status. All of our stories are valid & necessary. People from all ages and walks of life came and contributed their stories in empty books that sat on our shelves. At the end of our six month residency, we held a public storytelling event where we read out from the anonymous stories in our library.

Eight innovative ensemble driven companies were invited to Governors Island to make new work in three ten day residency sessions. The companies were: Tiny Little Band & Two Tone Rambler & Little Lord & Rady & Bloome & Charles Quittner & co & Beyond the Wall Project & New Saloon & Radical Evolution
